What are they? Are they just other fansites? What's the difference between elite and top?

Affiliates are simply other websites, they don't have to be fansites, but they usually are because that's just the majority.

Ummm... elite affiliates are usually my favorites or my friends' fansites.

Top affiliates are not as good as Elite affiliates.

Ex. Lifehouse-France.net (elite) is one of my elites because our sites are both about Lifehouse, and I am friends with Audrey. Same goes for Ville-Valo.org, me and Anni are friends, Shiikane-Online.co.uk, me and Adam are friends, etc.

It's just basically another way of getting your site noticed, especially elite affiliation with other fansites.
